The sun is hot and so is the fishing. Look for the redfish action to really pick up in September. Schooling fish are starting to show from Weedon Island to Port Manatee. We are also seeing some redfish in the Fort Desoto once again. Fishing the higher tides has produced well over the last few weeks. The mixture of the incoming tides and the recent rains drops drops the water temperature down and the fish start chewing. This week we will see some fantastic fishing with the storm cells out in the gulf. When the pressure drops the fish feed like they’ve never eaten before. It’s always good to get some high winds as well in Tampa Bay. This moves the fish around and as soon as that wind subsided the redfish come out of there deep water haunts and invade the flats looking for a tasty snack. Small pinfish and medium whitebait will be the ticket to an epic day of fishing. We have plenty of prime dates open so grab some buds or the special someone and give us a call to get your fishing fix in now and of course, don’t forget to get the best fishing equipment (Click here).
