Spring temperatures and a last full moon brought Tampa Bay a killer batch of trout. I’m seeing record numbers in the Fort Desoto area. We are fishing the outside edges of flats in 3-4 feet of water on the low tides and up on the banks or islands on high water. It’s great to see this fish coming back in our bay after a rough couple of years. Fish are quality size-wise as well and eating surface baits. Today we caught at least 40 trout in the 17-23 inch class with one pushing the 25 inch mark. Look for the bite to continue to stay strong through May.
